Our History

Midwest Fence was started in 1942 by “Big Ted” Roes in St. Louis Missouri. Big Ted moved the family West, relocating Young Ted, Bill, and Ginna to Cody, Wyoming. Young Ted went on to pursue a career in Cilvil Engineering, and ended up coming back to Cody to take over the Fence Company. Seventy plus years later, Cathy is now the third generation of the Roes family moving into position to take over the fence company. Young Ted is still a fixture in the office, you’ll frequently see his 1940 Ford V8 parked out front of our Powell Highway shop. Cathy is taking over installation operations, as well as managing some of office minutiae.
